KELANTAN, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- The recent flood in East Coast of Malaysia has swept away many homes and basic living necessities. After the floodwaters receded, it is a disheartening sights to behold where many went ‘home’ to nowhere as they were left stranded in homeless state and what was once a city or a comfortable neighbourhood now turns into muddy town.
 
Singer Malaysia joins in the CSR efforts by contributing 500 packs of goodies worth more than RM180,000 which inclusive of basic needs (blankets, water bottle, blouse, basic cooking pot and ceramics dinnerware) to our customers in Kelantan who were badly affected by the flood and also to the neighbourhood victims.
 
Kelantan state holds the majority occupancy of our customers, and it is during these difficult times that SINGER extends care and concern by contributing some gifts that will be helpful for them in current situation.

 

Mr Yeap Dein Wah, Managing Director of Singer Malaysia said, “Our customers have been our pillar of support over the years, and many of them are our loyal customers for generations. Hence, this time around Singer would like to be their pillar of support in return, by contributing basic needs that will be very useful for them now. I believe everyone is familiar with Singer’s motto, “Your Friend for Life’, this is how we treat our customers as a friend, and extend our help to them in difficult times.”
 
Besides, throughout this campaign, there are more than 20 volunteers of Singer Head Office staff who has helped to pack the goodies and load more than 200 boxes of these goodies into 2 lorries, where the 2 lorries will transport them all the way from Petaling Jaya to Kelantan.
 
The second batch of CSR support will be heading to Temerloh next, the other town which were also badly hit by the flood disaster. Another 250 packs of goodies worth more than RM100,000 will be sent as an aid to the customers who were victims of this flood disaster in Temerloh. All in, Singer Malaysia contributed a total of 750 packs of goodies worth more than RM280,000 to support our customers and helping them to rebuild lives from scarce once again.
 
As Singer’s motto sings, “Singer Your Friend for Life”, it is in times of difficulties that we stand together with those in needs and lend our helping hands to support them in rebuilding what was lost all over again, most importantly giving hope in times of dire state.
