PETALING JAYA: Singer Malaysia's tagline "Your Friend for Life" rang true recently when its customers who were affected by the east coast floods received aid from the company.

Items donated were basic necesitities such as blankets, water bottles and kitchen ware worth RM180,000.

In addition, Singer will also be sending RM100,000 worth of aid items to its flood-hit customers in Temerloh, Pahang.

Singer managing director Yeap Dein Wah said, "Our customers have been our pillars of support over the years, and many of them have been our loyal customers for generations.

"This time, Singer would like to be their pillar of support in return, by contributing basic needs that will be useful to them. 

"This is how we treat our customers, as a friend, and extend our help to them in difficult times," he said.

More than 20 volunteers from Singer provided assistance in preparing the goods for transport from the company's headquarters in Petaling Jaya to Kelantan. 

Singer has more than 680 branches nationwide, with more than 3,000 sales agents.
